Every street name sign is made with High-Intensity Prismatic (HIP) reflective sheeting at no extra cost. HIP is noticeably brighter at night than standard Engineer Grade and withstands years of sun and weather, making it a popular choice for municipal street signage.

See the Difference at Night
In daylight, 3M reflective sheeting grades can look very similar. At night, the difference is dramatic. The photo compares Engineer Grade on the left, High Intensity Prismatic in the center, and Diamond Grade on the right under headlight illumination. For higher-speed roads, critical intersections, and locations where nighttime visibility matters most, Diamond Grade provides the brightest, most visible sign.
